It is lent. The season of Fish Fry-galore.
We feel like since Catholic Churches aren’t restaurants that we can “legally” go to one tomorrow with friends for socializing.
The question I pose to you all is this:
Best Fish Fries in St. Louis?

Dear Honey,
I’m sorry.
I am a conservative husband, belong to the Tea Party and I voted for John Kasich. I have been married to a Cleveland teacher for almost 14 years and my vote let her down.
I apologize:
For letting people tease you about having the summer off and not asking them to thank you for the tough days ahead that begin in early August. I know for a fact you work more hours in...
Homebody
We’ve given up eating out for Lent. We fall into poor habits when we get busy or tired, and often our decision to eat out on date night becomes eating out all weekend. Both of us love to cook, and we know we can be better stewards of our money and our health if we get into the habit of eating at home.
Some ground rules:
No eating at restaurants in the St. Louis area (so, we can enjoy a...

I returned from five days in Choir Heaven at the American Choral Director’s Association National Conference in Chicago. I’m utterly exhausted and happier than words can express after spending that time with some of my dearest friends from all over the...
kkrissyface asked: I saw you respond to my post about Greek. It is the same one streaming on Netflix and I think it's worth a try. It's not just about silly sororities and such, it actually has some depth to it. And there are a couple of cuties on the show that make it worth watching. ;)

Although I’m not one for bringing politics onto my page, and for the most part, I tend to be conservative (with the exception of human rights and liberties — and for the record I am not hoping to impart my beliefs on anyone) I know this to be...

I prefer the term “training.” Deal with it.
I swear to you, my husband begged me to “be on his case” about things when we were dating. And I refused. Then we got married. And I obliged. And he had decided he doesn’t like this reminding.
He doesn’t remember asking for it when we were dating. But, I swear!

It would probably involve a girl in a mullet-dress, cowboy boots, some kind of outsized pouf attached to her head somehow, her neck draped with a pearl necklace once worn by every single one of her dead female relatives, reclining on a couch in the middle of a…

Ameren is on my sheet list.
Yesterday was wild.
Upon arriving at school, I am informed that we have now power and there is a gas smell in the building. Ok, so I get that we shouldn’t probably go in there…. We rerouted all students and staff to the high school gym where we spent from 7:30 until 10:30 in a huge kickball tourney/texting fest. At 10:30, it had been decided that the chance for power to come back on...
